  • Prevalence of domestic violence in intimate relationships
  • Impact of domestic violence on victims and abusers
  • How to identify offenders in substance abuse treatment programs
  • Appropriate referrals to keep victims safe and abusers accountable


Bea Coté, LCSW, LMFT, has more than 25 years of experience in the therapeutic field and has been instrumental in developing domestic abuse programs in Mecklenburg County.  Bea conducts multiple speaking engagements and training sessions on domestic violence and is also an adjunct instructor at Belmont Abbey College.  She is the Executive Director and owner of The Be There Group.  Bea developed a certified batterer intervention program called IMPACT, which is being used in Mecklenburg and surrounding counties.
