We will also have a raffle at the game to win a free hour of basketball one on one coaching from Sleepy Floyd or Andrea Stinson.

Last year, we were able to establish a fund of about $2,000 to support our initiative, Beyond the Classroom.  Beyond the Classroom is a program put in place to benefit our Guardian ad Litem volunteers and their child clients.  We offer small grants to the children in care who may be interested in taking a special lesson, need a calculator for a class, or want to take an educational school trip.

This year, we are hoping to expand that fund and have even more people learn all about the Guardian ad Litem Program and the Mecklenburg Guardian ad Litem Advocacy (GALA) Foundation.

We hope to see you all there supporting the children in the Mecklenburg County Foster Care System!  If you would like to volunteer, donate, or know of a great sponsor, please e-mail us at guardian@meckguardian.org.
